Abstract: Some research exhibit optimistic people as better academic performers while others display pessimistic people as better academic performers. This study investigated whether optimistic people can academically outperform pessimistic people in an exam. Results verify that the optimist group performed academically better on a psychologist test measurement by scoring high. This study set up a hypothesis to postulate that both, the highly optimistic and highly pessimistic groups studied thoroughly to prepare for the examination. Although the former group provided support for the hypothesis, the latter group did not.
