Abstract: According to Matsubara(1995), this is an era to verify an appropriate theory at a specific organization regarding leadership research. Accordingly, the objective of this study was to capture characteristics of executives’ leadership behaviors at a research department with the framework of transformational leadership(Bass, 1985)and examined the effects of leadership behaviors on group enhancement and individual commitment. 102 managers at a corporate research center were selected for this study. Among charismatic leadership, encouraging leadership, and consideration leadership, the data showed that consideration leadership had a direct influence on commitment and team enhancement. Statistical significance was found between leadership style at the research center and individual commitment and team enhancement, an effective leadership style of executives at a research center was inferred. Some issues needs to be examined and clarified in the future research.
